Running in target Informixserver's env, having INFORMIXSERVER env var=20 pointing to server's DBSERVERNAME? Looking like a problem retrieving server's shared memory key from=20 $INFORMIXDIR/etc/.infos.<dbservername>. Let us know if this helps. errno #2 is No such file or directory. For some reason HPL is not able to attach to the database server shared memory or it cannot find it. check your Informix shared memory segments and check the keys that those have, after that run the command again tracing the system calls . That should give you an idea where the problem is.
