SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT
Posted in 2018
User asked where to set SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT 30 to resolve lock-related insert errors. Fernando Nunes explained that lock mode is a session property that must be set in the same session executing the statements. It can be configured three ways: as a JDBC connection URL property, by executing the SQL statement within the session, or via a sysdbopen() procedure. No resolution to the original error was explicitly provided.

I have a question in mind where to set the lock mode.
where to run this sql statement SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT 30;
-> whether we need to run this sql statement in dbaccess before application is
connection to database.
-> or it should be set in data source file from application end.
can you please suggest on this. Im facing a issue while inserting the data
into database im getting an error
ERROR: Could not do a physical-order read to fetch next row.
The lock mode (SET LOCK MODE....) as well as the isolation level (SET
ISOLATION LEVEL... / SET TRANSACTION) is a session property.
So it must be set on the same session where you run the statements that are
showing locks.....
It can be set in different ways:
1- In JDBC is can be a connection URL property
2- In any language, it can be set by executing the SET LOCK MODE ... SQL
statement within the session - probably requires application change
3- You can set it in the sysdbopen() procedure if you create one for the
user connecting to the database
Regards.
