Then create equivalent unique indexes with the storage option of your choice . Then recreate the unique constraints . Now the unique constraints will use the already existinf indexes instead of creating systzem indexes. Apart from that - yes it is a good idea to create all databases in a dbspace which is not the rootdbs. HTH Tilman
