I would be very interested to hear from anybody else who has experience of running Informix products compiled for 3.2.X and then running them on 4.1. We are a reseller for IBM and Motorola and the new PowerPC ranges from both only run 4.1. It is very difficult to sell these new machines when there are no official ports for them. However, both manufacturers say that 4.1 is completely binary compatible with 3.2.X. We currently have two potential sales of Motorola PowerPC machines but are hessitating due to the above uncertainties. Does anyone else have experiences with various Informix products. Can anyone confirm the exact date when 4.1 ports will be available in the UK.
