We have been very pleased with a report writer called dbPower, which is definitely available for Unix (we're on Solaris 2.4), and perhaps on NT (we don't use it because Bill has enough of our money). I believe the company has a web site at www.dbpower.com. The report writer has its own 4gl, but compiles through esqlc, so you can create C code and link in other object modules if you need to do that.
