Is this bad news on my part? My experience in the 5 instance limit was on AT&T UNIX Sys V/386 Release 3.2, running Release 4.0 SE and ISQL. The machine classes out at a 16 user license. I received an error message after trying to invoke a 6 informix instance from the same user login session. I just tried to repeat this on my current system. (NOVELL UNIXWARE System V/386 Release 4.2 running Informix SE 5.0 and ISQL 4.0. I did hit a wall. However, it was after the 14th instance. The wall was related to number of processes running for my uid, NOT AN INFORMIX WALL. So, in my current experience, there is not a 5 limit instance on my current OS running SE 5.0 and ISQL 4.0. I am sorry for any misconceptions and skipped heart beats I may have inadvertantly have caused. George Teachman USDA-SCS george@talon.ftc.scs.ag.gov P.S. Good thing that desktop video isn't here yet. I can blush and y'all can't see it. :-<>
