[Q] [Q+E Software][ODBC Informix Driver]Unique cursor unavailable ??
Posted in 1995
Hi, Does the the message in the subject line, i.e. "[61][Q+E Software][ODBC Informix driver]Unique cursor unavailable" ring a bell for anyone? I got it from my ODBC Spy Log. I am obviously using ODBC SDK 2.0 (otherwise no Spy). The error occurs when using a local Informix SE (4.1) database backend. Local means a TSR running on my PC which runs WfW3.11. It results from an SQLPrepare() on a very simple SQL containing only one place holder ('?'). Note, this seems to be a Q+E problem, since no Informix error number is reported. Is there some fixed number of cursors that can be opened? The problem occurs on the 140th SQLPrepare(). Most of these prepared stmts have also been freed using SQLFreeStmt(). I use the Informix ODBC drivers from the Q+E ODBC Driver pack v1.2. When using a remote database (Informix OnLine 5.0) through INet f. Windows 5.01. I get another error message: "[88][Q+E Software][ODBC Informix driver][Informix]Incorrect database or cursor name format." This occurs after an SQLExecute() (Not the first). The related Informix error number is -354. Thanks for having read the above, even more thanks for replying your suggestions...
