I am quite sure you can't do this with the Informix CLI. It would have to be implemented in the database server as the connectivity stuff is all in there. That doesn't sound like an ideal place to do it. However you might want to look into the OpenLink drivers that does have a lot more options to set access rights on the server. Even thay can't do exactly what you describe as far as I know. If you explain to them what you want to do and why there is however a good chance they may actually implement such an option. They are generaly relativly responsive to good ideas.
