Hi, Server IDS 9.30UC2 on linux. Client Apache/PHP/CSDK 2.81 on another linux box. I want to show the query cost and access plan in a web page, How can I retrieve it? I know that in page 10-13 of the IDS Performance Guide it says : <quote> When the current database is on another computer, the sqexplain.out file is stored in your home directory on the remote host. . </quote> But, Is there a workaround to get the file stored in the client? Or, an SPL/UDR that reads the sqexplain.out in the server and return the content in the client? Any other ideas? TIA sending to informix-list
The first thing that comes to my mind is sharing home directory and mapping it to web server's machine... Hi, sharing your entire home directory might be thought a bit extreme. Another way to do it would be to write a simple tcp application that listens for connections, pipes the contents of the file to anyone who connects and then drops the connection to that host. You can then run netcat or equivalent to store it locally on your webserver. One thing to ponder is that if you run multiple queries simultaneously, what happens to sqexplain.out? I've never used it myself, so please excuse any ignorance...
