Informix Active Directory Support on Linux

All, I'm researching using internal Informix user accounts and need to find out if there are methods for authenticating an internal user account with LDAP on a Linux platform. I do see that LDAP is supported on Windows. Any thoughts on this? I did some investigation into this last year, not this exact issue, but identification of users that logged on to a Linux system using Kerberos SSO (Samba/winbind). It didn't go well and a PMR didn't result in a fix. Are you doing Kerberos based SSO, or simply using AD for authentication? Are you using sssd or Samba/winbind? What is your Linux distribution and version? What is the IDS version? Thanks! Pete
Peter, regarding your PMR, has been there any IPAR provided to you? on which version was that? My position is that such a fix HAS to be provided, unless you are the only company in the universe to use this functionality. Even though, a supported functionality that does not work HAS TO BE FIXED. COuld you provided PMR number and IPAR number? Thanks Eric
You can authenticate users against LDAP on Unix/Linux by using PAM. Additionally you'll probably will want to use mapped users, as Informix needs the OS to recognize the user account (for explain file an trace file creation and for SYSTEM() inside SPL). PAM configuration needs to be done for LDAP...Typically using pam_ldap module.
