I've done this case to my customer 9 years ago on IBM pLinux. That are working on redhat 5 probably and Informix 9.4. I have been running my TPC-C Benchmark on P7+ in April, Red Hat 6.4, and I am now running the same Benchmark on the brand new P8 (linux only series 'L') TO be honest, I fell in love with this platform: great performance, great robustness, and with the P8 L series, the price range is directly competing with HP-DELL and that kind of x86 based servers. You can see the results on my presentation done in Miami at the iiug conf 2014, presentation name is "E11-VmTechnologyVsPhysicalServersLegendsAndFacts" you will find it in the Conference presentations package at www.iiug2014.org/sessions.zip I am finalizing the P8 with IFMX 12.10 FC3 bench this week and hope to publish yet this month about it. Get prepared, it is really fast, though very affordable! I also want to compare this Benchmark with similar x86 platforms, but I need time and to find a comparable platform... Regards, Eric
