Creating Visual Basic Front-End to Informix Database on Unix Serv

Short time listener, First Time caller... Can someone guide me... I have an informix database on a Unix server which sits off-site. I would like to write a simple Visual Basic module that would connect with userid/password entered in the VB module display a report that would be activated/generated by the VB module using data that is in the informix database. Is there write-up/samples/web site that I can visit that can help me do this. Thank you in advance. Robert.
