Online Monitoring tools

Pholks, We all have our own concerns about monitoring what Online is up to while we aren't watching. I'm sure that each of us have come up with our own scripts to monitor those things that are important to us. I propose we build a library of these scripts/programs to make available to all of us and perhaps convince Informix to build in to release 21.7. I will start by compiling a list of these functions. If you have any such programs/scripts that you wish to contribute please let me know. Later on I'll try to get Walt to store this library. I'll start with our list: DBAmon: Performance threshold monitor. /etc/rc: dynamically start proper engines and other resources. /etc/shutdown: shut them back down. backup: 'Unattended' archiver. tbtape spawn: Spawn appropriate tbtape -c (continuous) in background. seteng/setpath: Set TBCONFIG and DBPATH based on users group(s).
