How to make two databases in sync?

Hi, We currently run our 4gl programs on an AT&T 3B2/500 running version 4 of the isql,c4gl,SE products. We are going to buy a new computer (NCR3430). Currently, we do all adds/updates/ deletions in the database located in the 3B2/500 computer. What I would like to do while the new computer is on 'test-mode' is to duplicate contents from the 3B2 database tables and put all of them in the NCR3430. I'm thinking of doing the following: 0. Create tables in NCR3430 (I don't see us changing the schema of the tables for a while) 1. Drop Indexes, Delete data from NCR3430 2. Unload all data from tables in 3B2 to flat ASCII files 3. Copy ASCII files to NCR3430 4. Load data to NCR3430 database from ASCII files copied from 3B2 5. Recreate indices in NCR3430 Step 1-5 done daily to make databases in 'sync'. I don't think this will work bec. there's a *LOT* of data. I'm not sure that 1. The computer can finish the step from 1am-8am. (The NCR maybe, but the 3B2?!?! [too slow]) That's why we're getting the NCR3430. 2. We don't have enough diskspace. Buying a new hard disk for the 3B2 is not a solution bec. we're transferring everything to the NCR3430. So my question is: There must be an easier way to do this isn't it? Pls. email. Thanks! John
