How's your informix/etc/sqlhosts file?
It should look something like -
connect1 ontlitcp myhostname ifmx_srvc
connect2 ontlitcp myhostname srv_agent
with sockets, use onsoctcp instead of ontlitcp.
Your onconfig file should have an entry for connect1 or whatever
name you're using for the particular connection to the database.
Also, you probably need to get put entries in your client-side
ODBC to point to connect1 and connect2.
Just a lot of work informing everyone where and who you are.
Stick with it and you'll get there.
