Config Management of RDBMS DDL

I am researching an article on configuration management of relational databases & looking for info on how Informix handles such problems as: * supporting multiple versions of tables for multiple users * ensuring that ancillary entities like views, triggers, stored procs are certified to be in synch with the base tables * generating a snapshot of all DDL for a periodic full software build process (starting from scratch & building all binaries for a large project) To give one example, Oracle 7 has a "schema" capability that allows multiple users to have their own versions of a given table while sharing other tables. I am mainly looking for info on native RDBMS capabilities in this area, though if CASE tools are the only way to solve the problems, I would also like to hear about them... thanks Doug Thomson -- ======================================================== Doug Thomson Fourth Shift / JIT thomson@fs.com 7900 International Drive (612) 851-1471 Minneapolis, MN 55425 USA
