First guess is that you need to give us more data! You don't say what the process is - is it an application or a database engine? What version of Informix are you using. If you can't identify the process from ps maybe you could take a look at a core dump with strings to see if you recognise anythin in there. Can you trace the core with a debugger? My guess would be either something allocating space with malloc and not releasing it or something going into infinite recursion. Ian
