Have you however seen any reference to how to get at its value for the last insert? I can't, and if noone else can I'll send them a request to implement it and ask everone else to do the same. It would be unfortunate if we had to keep calling a stored procedure to find out, and the once who still use databases prior to version 6 would be out of luck. Also they say they will not support scrolling cursors in the first version. I find this very unfortunate for general programming. It may not limit us to much when implementing true www applications, but for general programming this seems to me to be a real problem. On the other hand the problem may not be as large as it was in 4GL prior to it's implementation as we have a more powerfull language. Any opinions? There is no support for interval datatype, except perhaps via the mecanism to handle database spesific datatypes. There seem to be no standard method for the >, >= <= and < comparisons on date, time and timestamp datatypes. Is this a problem? It's allready very late in the process, so I assume any input would have to be sent very soon for it to be considered at all, although there will surely be a next version also (in an internet year or two, which is 1/7th of a regular year :-). If someone feel this isn't Informix related enough for this newsgroup I disagree, as Java and JDBC with all probability will become an extremely important way of accessing Informix databases, and now is the time to make it right. We in the Informix community may have special requirements, and these should be discussed here.
