Fatal error in shared memory initialization

Is this a new installation? Have you applied the recommended patches listed in the release notes files in the $INFORMIXDIR/release/*/* directory? Are you sure that you are not about to wipe out an existing instance? Is there an engine instance running already? Did you set up the $ONCONFIG file?
