Re: Microsoft to announce buyout

Scott, Don't think you have been ambitious enough in your thinking, Microsoft should go for the jugular and sponsor Bill Gates for president. Once there, they can set about buying congress and the senate before passing a law making it illegal to use any software that did not have the Microsoft logo. The foreign office could then force Microsoft compliance on the many coutries that survive on US aid, on the basis of unilateral standardisation for the common good. Instead of trade tariffs, Microsoft compliance could be forced on all trading partners - Japan, Taiwan, China, India etc.... To ease this transition, television companies can be forced to include Microsoft friendly advertising at the start of every program, or during any advertising break. Children would receive particularly heavy doses of this brainwashing to ensure that future generations remain Microsoft friendly. The final step would be to make their s/w 'incompatible' with other environments...and refuse to handle any network transactions initiating from a non-approved Microsoft source. The free world would then be forced to comply with the Microsoft everywhere edict in order to continue trading with the wealthy coutries of the world..... Of course this could never happen. Show me one single example of it. If Microshaft bought the U.S. Government and made Office 97 the government standard, think of how much of the budget and how many of the boondoggles could be filtered out through the numerous holes in the Office 97 software. We could balance the budget in six months ... pay off the Nat'l Debt a few weeks later .. and eliminate half of the bureaucrats by having them fired for their incompetence the following month!
