or have a WHERE that guarantees only 1 value returned. My favorite:

This kinda programming could lead you into trouble if you do this on a
big table: The statement goes through every row.

As Dennis Pimple wrote, SELECT CURRENT FROM systables WHERE tabid=1;
would be the most efficient way of doing this! That's because I assume
that systables would reside in the memory all the time!?
