RE: More IDS install woe ...
Posted in 2010
With new 11.50 fixpacks, we are offering two different Media types for Linux. 1. Regular media, continues to work the same way as all previous fixpacks. 2. RPM media, which uses a wrapper installer (.bin file), to copy out the RPM based install media. As far as installation goes, after invoking the . bin file, going through installer prompts, it copies out a RPM file. Follow the enclosed steps: 1. Prior to invoking the RPM file, ensure no external java is picked up as indicated in earlier response # which java /usr/bin/which: no java in (/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/root/bin) PS: RPM installer has internal JRE dependancy. 2. Start RPM installer using rpm command with switches. 3. To override defaults, modify bundle.ini provided in the media. Set the IFXRESFILE variable as needed for your environment, to the path/bundle.ini For more details, refer to IDS unix installation guide. It can be accessed via infocenter link as enclosed http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v115/index.jsp Hope this helps.
