does this counter include range sarageable sequential scans? ie partial table scans.
I don't think there is such a thing as a partial table scan. Any scan that avoids all indexes will have to access all pages in the table, otherwise how will the engine know that it has found all of the rows it is looking for? I can see a range scan using an index to scan across the index leaf pages, but that is not a sequential scan. Art Art S. Thanks Art. The only senario I could come up with was when we had a clustered index... Read the index for the start rowid then scan the table until out of range.. but didn't know in IDS did this (and I probably should know this) Anyway you have solidified my knowledge thanks again
