You can get a Mac with a PC daughter card and make it run Windows (or W4Wg) with tcpip/ipx but the performance sucks big-time. Not recommended for database work, IMO, and I've done it (Progress client against a Progress server on a Sun SPARC). If you really, really need to do both, maybe NewEra under Motif, with the clients running MacX , Xvision or similar XWindows software. Or another GUI 4GL running under X. Of course, doing this you're back to host-based processing with all those expensive boxes being nothing more than display screens. I have no idea how good NewEra is on Motif. I'm using it under Windows and while Delphi has a prettier, slicker screen painter, I much prefer the OO4GL of NewEra. There's more strength in the language. Peter Wiley
