Hi, I have given access to a new user mbe on the database. He is getting a different date format All user: Day, Month, Year User MBE: Month, Day, Year Can u tell me where in db do I change the default date format for this user? Thanks in advance.
Set the environment variable DBDATE in the users profile. This is within the Operating System and not within the database. So if its UNIX then it will be the user .profile or whatever its called in your flavour. > To: ids@iiug.org > From: ksushants@gmail.com > Subject: Date format [23005] > Date: Wed, 9 Mar 2011 04:38:01 -0500 > > Hi, > > I have given access to a new user mbe on the database. Just to add to what was said
you are looking at something like this for a unix / unix like platform
DBDATE=dmy4/export DBDATE
The 4 specifies that your year will include the century and the / is the
delimiter between the date parts
