Hi folks,
I've come across an interesting problem trying to build a
Makefile for some PERFORM screens for a project. I'm running INFORMIX
5.02 on an AT&T GIS (NCR) 3455, UNIX SVR4.
I'm using the form4gl command in the Makefile to compile the
PERFORM screen, with the -q option, which eliminates the INFORMIX
version header from appearing on the screen. Here's an example of
a command line:
form4gl -q person.per
When compiling several screens, I receive the following warning
message in a .err file (Note: the column names are different, according
to the tables and columns that are being accessed):
#
# The column "name_code" joins with other columns, but it is not
# indexed. It is recommended that columns be indexed for cross-table
# queries. Performance will be much improved by creating an index
# on the column.
# See error number -2970.
The manuals that I have indicate that error -2970 is an obsolete
function that is no longer available, and can be ignored. Unfortunately,
it causes a bad exit code, which in turn forces the Makefile to fail.
Should this warning be ignored? If it can be, is there an option
to the form4gl compiliation command that will suppress warnings? So far,
I haven't come across any in the manuals that I have, though my set is
incomplete.
Any info/hints would be greatly appreciated.
