Data Protector Query

We currently use the ontape utility to back up our database to a DLT8000=
tape drive and perform logical logging to a DDS 3 tape drive.

We are planning on getting HP Data Protector software, along with a new LTO=
tape library with two tape drives. As I understand it, we will be using=
the onbar utility to back up the database to the tape library, and need=
licenses for the two LTO drives.=20

Do I continue to use the ontape utility for logical logging? Will I also=
need a DP license for the DDS drive?

You must use the same tools for full-backup and logical log backup. When =
using
onbar for full backups (level-0) you have to use onbar for logical log ba=
ckup, too.
=
There was (is?) an unsupported possibility to use 'ondatartr' (onarchive-=
tool) together
with onbar (or mirror-split-copies) - but that's not supported and may no=
t work with
the most current or with new IDS version.
