I think the clue is in the words: "Resulting string length must be less than
or equal to 255." :-)
I'm not sure, I *think* you can do the append in an update, something like
UPDATE table
SET column = column || othervalue
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...
*might* work. But that's just a guess.

I'm concatenating some CHARs together into a larger CHAR. Why the error? I've just gone through and peppered my SPs with TRACEs.
