Although you MAY be able to alter the next extent size by hand a) Informix do not recommend it. They say do not touch system tables AT ALL. b) The warning is there because the in memory structure used to hold extent info only contains 8 entries per table. Hence Informix has to access disk structures to do this. However system tables are accessed a lot and hence probably cached. Little memory is needed to cache system tables (<2Mb) I would get so they may little difference. > Thanks for any insight, > Deb Nicke -- David Williams Maintainer of the Informix FAQ Primary site (Beta Version) http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk Official site http://www.iiug.org/techinfo/faq/faq_top.html I see you standin', Standin' on your own, It's such a lonely place for you, For you to be If you need a shoulder, Or if you need a friend, I'll be here standing, Until the bitter end...
