Hi,
it's really a minor problem. First look at your "Release Notes" in
$INFORMIXDIR/release/ONLINE_5.*
If the modern "terminfo" is supported with your product, then set
your environment variable INFORMIXTERM to terminfo and make sure
that this variable will be exported.
If your product doesn't support the terminfo, you must correct
the settings in /usr/informix/etc/termcap.
First find out your terminal type :
$ echo $TERMhp
Second, find this value in the termcap file. Behind this value
is a pipe sign. ( "h4|hp|hp2645|..." )
Below this line you'll find a description of all your terminal
capabilities. Search for the following entries:
:ku=\\EA:kd=\\EB:kl=\\ED:kr=\\EC:
I think your terminal sends the sequence \\EOA instead of \\EA
or \\E[A. ( ku means Key Up, kd means Key Down and so on ).
Just change the values from \\EA to \\EOA and I hope it will solve
your problem.
To avoid problems with other terminals it's alway a good idea to
create a new entry in the termcap. But I don't know wether you
have different termials, X-terminals ...
Bye, Servus
Stefan.
