You might be getting a performance problem if you didn't create the table by specifying 'WITH NO LOG' and you database has logging on. I have never noticed a performance decrease by using temp tables, but instead get much better performance results with them. (You also can possibly try to index you temp table to help if you do have performance problems.) simon (simony@pacific.net.sg) wrote: : Is it true that using TEMP TABLES in 4gl modules, would affect : performance in an application? : Currently, i'm creating 2 temp tables (maximum size not more than 100 : rows) of which i will store and retrieve records from a production table. : These tables will be dropped after the online entry is : completed, and will be recreated again when the user continues with : another data entry. : How much of a systems performance will be afftected by the use of : temp tables? : -- Bryan Johnson | ZenaComp Incorporated | http://www.zenacomp.com/zenacomp |
