performance problems

Hi to all: We have Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.UC2X8 on a HP G70 server with HPUX 11.0 and i this message on the log : 10:33:54 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 8 seconds. 11:00:18 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 7 seconds. 11:26:39 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 5 seconds. 11:42:13 VP Notify mechanism incomplete after 5minutes. This can be due to slow network file access. Will try 12 more times 11:52:12 VP Notify mechanism incomplete after 5minutes. This can be due to slow network file access. Will try 11 more times When i have this message the server starts to hang , and do not responds to external request ,even the local request experince slow performance. What i do is bring down the server and then start up again. BUt wehave experince this problem for a while , so i want to know if there is something i can do , because the problem seems like heavy network traffic but i check that with my network admin , and that's not seems to be real problem ,so i even try to remove the vp soc with onmode -p ,but this doesn't work. So what this >messages means , and second how can i fix this problem Have you got KAIO enabled? It looks more like you have a disk IO problem. What is the output from the "onstat -g iov" command?
