level 0 backup

Hello, dear Gurus! Thanks to everybody for answering my previous questions. Now, say...I have to make a level 0 backup from database. Should I disconnect all users and make my db unavailable to them? It depend on the type of version you use. if you are using informix dynamic server you my not diable user.
