Well, neither my manual nor finderr said anything like this, but I checked with support and they came up with the same suggestion. Indeed, now the problem seems solved. I am quite puzzled by this, apparently the optimizer got way out of tune and crashed. I agree with Jonathan that this shouldn't happen, but there seems to be a problem which should definitely be fixed. Could this be associated with the "negative npused value" problem which was discussed in this group a while ago? I checked the systables table, everything seems to be fine.
