Informix 4/5 upgrade to 7?

Hi everybody! I work now for a company who is using ancient Informix 4 or 5 On-Line release. I worked with this stuff about 5 years ago, and personally I specialize in Oracle and Sybase. I would like to suggest to upgrade to something more recent in terms of release. Do you know about any incompatibilities, porting problems (This includes 4GL forms and C embeded SQL. Have you had personnal experience from such port you would like to share with me? I will appreciate all input, as it will allow for much more precise assesment of work involved. The company seems to be attached to the idea of running software museum, and I don't want to spend my time arguing about it, if it can cause a lot of new problems. As far as I know Informix 7.1 is quite well stabilized and having decent functionality built in much more fun to work then 5 years old 4/5 release. Thanks in advance for advice.
