DATE Issue

Is there a way to temporarily set the date format of a database in Informix via a sql function etc? I have a VB appl which is going to be inserting into tables which have date columns. I would like to insert in the format 'dd/mm/yyyy' and would like to set the database to accept dates of this mask. Is this possible? Thanks, Michael.

Normally on Unix, you'd set DBDATE=dmy4/ (though why anyone would want to use mdy4/ still escapes me:-). Since you're using VB, you probably have to hack setnet32 to set DBDATE for the duration. It might be easier to convert to Unix. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
