installserver error ...

Hello, Iam installing IDS 7.x on HP-UX . In my previous attempt , installserver ran sucessfuly and but after setting onconfiog and sqlhosts, I got the error of "locales" not found ... After , that I removed all direcotires from INFORMIXDIR [opt/informix] ..Then I tried to run "installserver" and it now gives the following :- ---------------------------------------------------------- $ pbrun ./installserver cat: Cannot open etc/IDS-cr: No such file or directory Installation and Configuration Script This installation procedure must be run by a privileged user (Super User) It will change the owner, group, mode, (and other file attributes on Secure systems) of all files of this package in this directory. There must be a user "informix" and a group "informix" known to the system. Press RETURN to continue, or the interrupt key (usually CTRL-C or DEL) to abort. grep: can't open etc/IDSfiles sed: Cannot find or open file etc/IDSfiles. Error: Cannot modify file list with installation specific preferences Installation failed. $ ls -lttotal 306322 drwxr-xr-x 3 informix informix 1024 Oct 24 14:48 hhelp drwxr-xr-x 2 informix informix 96 Oct 20 21:16 data -rwxr-xr-x 1 informix informix 10013 Oct 15 18:39 installserver -rw-r--r-- 1 informix informix 156825600 Oct 12 17:28 ids731fd11.cpi -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, do you execute the installserver script as root and with INFORMIXDIR set to /opt/informix ? What does pbrun ??? Why don't you just execute ./installerver ? Santosh, Looks like you have to uncpio the ids731fd11.cpi file and then run pbrun ./installserver. Also check with unix admin that pbrun is not restrected for any command.
