I seriously doubt that NT is the solution. Sounds like you need more
resources for the database not a poorer, slower, less sophisticated
operating system.
How many CPUS? How fast? Is this a PA RISC or M68K HP system? Can
you allocate more memory to Informix for buffers etc? How many disks
do you have? What kind (SCSI I, SCSI II, UW SCSI)? How are drives
configured (singleton drives, RAID 5, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 10)?
Post these answers and your onstat -p and onstat -c and someone will
try to give you tuning advice or platform advice.
