Change your database to NONLOGGIN.
to do it:
a) change the backup device to /dev/null
b) ontape -s -L 0 -N <your_batabase_name>
c) run "alter table ....."
When the proces was finish do:
a) ontape -s -L 0 -B (or other logging status)
<your_database_name>
b) change the backup device from /dev/null to your backup
device.
