Currently, we are running the SUN Solaris 2.6.1 and Informix 7.20. We are trying to setup the ODBC on the PC. What should I start first? We have the Informix Connect 7.20 for Sun Microsystem. What other software do I need? Do I need something like ESQL for PC or ...?? Please advice! Hi Dennis, If you only want to connect through ODBC then all you need is Informix CLI or Informix Connect and the ODBC driver. Once you have installed the CLI, run the SETNET utility to specify the location of the server and then setup your ODBC DSN. Thanks, Imran. =========================================== Imran Hussain MCP, MCSD imranh@imranweb.com FOR FREE Software http://www.imranweb.com/freesoft =========================================== chuden@my-dejanews.com wrote: > Currently, we are running the SUN Solaris 2.6.1 and Informix 7.20. www.intraware.com has the informix client sdk for free. Installing this will give you setnet32 and an odbc driver. You first configure setnet32 and then go on to configure odbc. Informix tech support can take you through the process. -- Regards, Robert chuden@my-dejanews.com wrote in article <7bp70s$326$1@nnrp1.dejanews.com>... > Currently, we are running the SUN Solaris 2.6.1 and Informix 7.20. You could try our ODBC driver: SCO SQL-Retriever. It will work fine with Informix 7 on Solaris 2.7 and we provide everything you need to make an ODBC connection - s/w for PC & UNIX - (assuming TCP/IP link is there) and no need for I-Connect. Take a look at http://www.sco.com/vision/products/sqlretriever/ for more information and a downloadable eval.
