Environment AIX 4.1.4. en Informix 7.20 People can subscribe to an evenement for 1 or more days. To maintain this the have a table with o.a. the next columns: fst_date DATE lst_date DATE fam_name CHAR(28) Indexes: 1: fst_date 2: lst_date 3: fst_date, lst_date In order to see which people are member at 1998-4-1 we have a query: SELECT ... WHERE fst_date <= "1998-4-1" AND lst_date >= "1998-4-1" With only 80.000 rows in the table this query takes 52 seconds !!. Update statistics have been done according the recommandations (low, medium, high).No real influence. Anybody having any suggestion how to speed up this query ? Thanks Henk J.
