Hi, - 1200 sessions may be just a "border case". - you should consider MaxConnect when the machine is running an IDS with many connections and is CPU bound. - to off-load from the CPU, MaxConnect should run on a different machine. No point in running it on the same machine as IDS server. - if machine with IDS server is not CPU bound then MaxConnect will only reduce the number of network connections (but not sessions) for IDS. It likely will not improve performance.
