Informix ODBC VB6 problems

Does anyone have a reliable ODBC driver for use with Informix Online and VB6? We have been using various Informix/Itersolv drivers, but none seem to work reliably. The main problem is that the ODBC driver appears to add extra code to SQL statements (eg redundant SELECT FROM in front of stored procedure calls) generating syntax errors.
