Setting Isolation mode for ACE reports

I have a customer who is running IDS 7.30. All 4GL programs call a library function which sets the isolation mode to 'DIRTY READ' - they used to use SE and altering the product to work any other way would be too hard! We can put 'set isolation mode to dirty read;' in SQL statements. How can we do this for an ACE report, please? The user is having lots of problems with them falling over on locked rows. This has happened since moving to 7.20 tools from 6.05 tools. TIA! -- Surfer!
Hi, The Informix FAQ at this site http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk/informix.htm says this about ACE reports and Isolation Level The environment variable is SACEISOL and the valid values are DIRTY READ or dirty read COMMITTED READ or committed read CURSOR STABILITY or cursor stability REPEATABLE READ or repeatable read -for Bourne or Korn- SACEISOL="CURSOR STABILITY" export SACEISOL If you use SACEISOL with SE, it is ignored. No error is returned. You can check this out Vidya. "Surfer!" wrote: > I have a customer who is running IDS 7.30. Guess what? I also got the same reply from Informix support! Now I *am* impressed (with them)!
