Informix SE on Linux

I'm having trouble with Informix SE on Linux. WHat I want to do is web-enable a database running on my Linux server. I've got the Apache web-server (version 1.3.3 I believe), and Informix SE 7.24. What I don't understand is how to connect the two, so that I can perform SQL-queries over the internet using scripting languages such as Javascript. Do I need an ODBC-driver? If so, where can I get one? THanks in advance. Chris
