Hi, I support Informix product in japan. I don't know international version of the Informix engine. }From ilist@rmy.emory.edu Sat Dec 10 16:38:04 1994 }Message-Id: <3cas1p$5m6@tattoo.twinsun.com> }Subject: Informix (Japanized) product line }X-Informix-List-Id: <news.10218> } }I have a question that deals with international version of the Informix }engine. We would like to know before we order whether we need both an }English and a Japanese version of the software because we plan to develop }on the English side as we would prefer messages to be in English and then }deploy on a Japanized server. } In Japan, about OnLine 5.X, we selling ALS (Asian Language Supported) Version product. It have user changeable system define file (informix.rc). So, answer about ALS version OnLine, }1. Is it an option switch that one can toggle to switch between English/Japanese } engine? } Yes, you can change informix.rc file for switch English/Japanese/etc mode engine behavior. And informix.rc file can changeable for only switch English/Japanese message. }2. Or do we really need two separate development servers one for developing } on English engine and one for testing on Japanese server. I think on using ALS version OnLine engine, you can use same server. }Does anyone currently have Japanese OnLine 5.0 and knows whether it can switch }between English/Japanese server with matching changes to the error messages. }Thanks. email or followup is fine. } }Burzin } I hope this message helping for you.
