Connect fail with error 908

Hi, I try to connect to a remote database with dbaccess comand 'connect to '@dataserver';' and gor error '908: Attemp to connect to database server (dataserver) failed'. Can someone tell me what the probem is? The remote database is up and running. Thanks, Thanh Ngo
