OP was saying that because he had to "split" the file it was looked down upon. I have experienced EXACTLY the same symptoms going from one version of Informix to the SAME version. I have experienced the EXACT same symptoms going from an older version to a newer version. When the problem ocurrs, it's always the same... If I run the whole sql file-- failure. If I run the table DDL via dbimport, and then run the rest with dbaccess-- success.
