Went there, found that the "current" version is 0.77, went and got that
from the maintainer, built, installserver, seems to work (well, Informix
installs cleanly, so...).

Because of what it doesn't do; e.g., run all kinds of stuff that changes
things I don't want changed (frequently, I've found, in other
distributions).
