I am using Enterprise server for web, 2.x, and livewire for informix db
connection on osf/1 ver 4.0
I have successfully installed db part, and have accessed to it locally,
but with skipping the id/pw check.
if I try to connect to db with a user and pw, (it's defined in unix
box), it gives an error:
-952 User's password is not correct for the database server.
and finderr -952 gives as an explanation:
The password specified for the server computer in your
~/.netrc file or in the USER clause of a CONNECT statement
is incorrect. The database server does not accept (or cannot
find) your account password. Make sure that your
password is specified correctly and try again. (This message
appears beginning with Version 6.0.)
-952 Incorrect user password for remote host.
The database server resides on another computer system
that does not accept (or cannot find) your account
password. Verify that your password is correctly entered in
the appropriate authorization or password file. (This
message appears in versions prior to Version 6.0.)
----
well system uses shadow passwords, but in all of docs of informix, it
says a locally defined user will be sufficient to be able to connect (in
fact not)
any ideas? (can c2 security be a problem?)
any1 has met this before?
thank you for your time, and effort
